It is also known as the Diagoras Airport and has one 3,305 asphalt runway. It has one terminal with two buildings and a connecting corridor. The ground floor is for departures, and all passengers take buses to the airplanes since there are no jetways. The first floor houses the gates, shopping, food and drink areas, as well as passenger screening.
RHO was opened in 1977 replacing the previous military airport as the main civilian aviation hub. This new airport was designed to accommodate modern passenger planes and passengers, as well as charter flights.
