It serves scheduled and charter flights and is headquartered at the Leeds Bradford Airport in the United Kingdom. It is only second in passengers to TUI. It has 12 operating bases that include Birmingham, Glasgow and Bristol. It is a Type A carrier with the ability to carry mail, cargo and passengers on 20-seat or more aircraft. They also offer charter services.

Jet2.com opened its doors in 1983 under the name Channel Express and then changed its name to Jet.com in 2003. Its first leisure flight was to Amsterdam in 2003 on a Boeing 737-300. From there, it started flying scheduled flights to other vacation destinations. A second base was opened in 2004, and the company added more planes for longer flight destinations. Two more bases have been added since 2004.

They offer flights to New York from four airports like Glasgow and Leeds. The first year it was opened as Jet2.com, it carried more than 600,000 passengers, and by 2017, they were carrying more than 9 million passengers.
