The ground floor is for departures, and all passengers take buses to the airplanes since there are no jetways. The first floor houses the gates, shopping, food and drink areas, as well as passenger screening.

RHO was opened in 1977 replacing the previous military airport as the main civilian aviation hub. This new airport was designed to accommodate modern passenger planes and passengers, as well as charter flights. The upgraded passenger terminal was opened in 2005 to handle the charter flight increase. Upgrades in the works include the remodelling of the current terminal and a new fire station.

Parking consists of 186 spaces and offers both long- and short-term parking. The first 20 minutes are free. You can reach the airport by bus, taxi or your own car. Many of the major car rental agencies have a desk at RHO.

Rhodes Airport Reviews

★★★★★
perfect!
- Konstantinos

★★★★☆
Quite hectic whilst checking in as you have to separately que up to weigh your suitcases, then to check them in, then to go through security, then to go through passport control. The facilities are nice, the duty free shops are fairly expensive however the food sold there is quite good value. The terminal is very well air conditioned.

★★★★☆
Easily accessible airport. Fairly small with little terminal facilities, but everything worked out fast and easily, with no complications. I was very pleased with my experience and do not have many complaints, but the WiFi and the existence of facilities and food services.
- Miljaana Lahdenperä

★☆☆☆☆
The worst airport I have ever been at! So many problems! So bad security check, not working WiFi, no food to buy! No way to pay with card in a lounge. Everything was really bad! If I ever come back I hope they will be better. BTW: Hopefully SAFA will get there soon.

★★★★☆
A little airport a little bit far from the city but in the complex nice and well organized. To get to the terminal we had to wait on the bus for half an hour because parking was not available. The inside is beautiful and has a typical Greek architecture. Food and retail services are exceptional and also the bus services for the city are fine. Nice airport!

★★☆☆☆
Loved Rhodes but was not impressed with the airport. Check in was a joke.. we were sent from one area to another, turned away and then sent in another direction. The security check didn't fill me with much confidence either. The security guards were too busy talking and shouting at each other to even notice if anything suspicious was being carried through! Only one small restaurant in the lounge and wifi non existent.

★★★☆☆
Free WiFi everywhere but unusably slow. Coffee very expensive, check-in and security a joke. Loos rather dirty and half of them blocked. Typical tourist airport, and OK as such. Bags took long on arrival.
- Chris Blum

★☆☆☆☆
Poor toilets!!! Toilets without toilet paper, soap and towels. NO TOILET SEAT. intricate check-in. Very warm. NO AIR COND.
- Paolo Frcek

★★☆☆☆
Regular bus to/from Rodos city center. Crowded but for less than 3 euro better than the 30euro taxi, definately no taxi! Two terminals, usually crowded but ok, go early if you have luggage. The duty frees are cheaper than in Athens, food and coffee very expencieve though. Pleasant airport. Good for airplane seeing, once on the gate you pick a seat facing the runway!

★★☆☆☆
This airport is stuck in the 70's, it is dirty, no toilet seats, arrived at 4am and cups and litter from the previous days departures had not been cleaned. Incompetence rife, gates opened but no shuttle buses arrived for 20+ minutes, only one cafe and one shop that didn't sell any soft drinks, very poor.
