TUIfly (IATA: X3, ICAO: HLX) is a passenger airline from Germany.
TUIfly offers 38 destinations on 22 aircraft. Its callsign is TUI JET. It operates out of Frankfurt, Munich, Stuttgart and four other destinations. Its fleet includes 21 737-700s, five 737-500 and two leaded Airbuses. It offers charter and scheduled flights to destinations like Israel, Greece and more. 30 percent of its sold seats are from holiday packages.
X3 is the result of a merger of two airlines in 2007, and because of its yellow livery, it was known as callsign YELLOWCAB. It was changed to a blue design in 2013, and its first plane with the new colors flew into Hannover in 2014. Plans to merge with Air Berlin to build a service around holiday destinations that included Austria and Switzerland in 2016 were nixed by the end of 2017.
This airline picked up some of the destinations that the defunct Germania left behind in 2019, and it announced long-haul flights to Mexico and the Caribbean that were to begin in 2020/21, but due to the pandemic, the plans were scrapped.
