Edelweiss Air is Switzerland’s leading leisure travel airline. It was founded in 1995. Today it is wholly owned by SWISS and the Lufthansa Group. Its main operating base is Zurich and it flies to more than 40 destinations devoted to leisure activities. Edelweiss Air flights are on an all Airbus fleet. The fleet includes A320’s, A330-200’s, A330-300’s, and, commencing in October 2016, A340-300’s. All aircraft are configured with Business and Economy Class seating. Economy Max (Economy Class seating with additional legroom) is available on A330 and A340 serviced flights. The airline’s name is derived from the unofficial national flower of Switzerland.
