Miami Airport, is the main airport serving Miami and the surrounding area in the United States. It is the busiest airport in the state of Florida. Miami Airport is one of just eight airports in the United States which accommodates the Airbus A380 jumbo jet.
Due to it’s size and position in the south of the USA, Miami Airport serves as a major gateway between the US and South America. Due to it being on the east coast it also serves as excellent strategic location for handling traffic to Europe.
Miami Airport was served the highest percentage of international flights (according to official figures from 2011) and it was second place for international passengers by volume (only ranking behind New York’s JFK Airport). The airport is the 10th busiest in the USA when looking at annual passenger totals (in 2013, they had 40,563,071 travelling through the airport).
