LATAM Airlines Chile is the Chilean company of LATAM Airlines Group. Formerly known as LAN, the company merged with TAM Airlines on 22 June 2012. On 5 May 2016 the name LATAM Airlines was selected as the combined name. LATAM Airlines is the largest airline in South America. The airline serves over 115 destinations in 23 countries with over 280 aircraft. Major hubs are located at Rio de Janeiro-Galeão Airport (GIG), Santiago-Comodoro Arturo Merino Benitez Airport (SCL), and São Paulo-Guarulhos Airport (GRU).
