Wizz Air has announced the launch of a new route from London Gatwick to Budapest.

The new Gatwick connection to Hungary’s capital will see Wizz Air increase its presence at London’s second busiest airport, where it already operates flights three times daily to the Romanian capital of Bucharest.

Beginning on March 31st, the new flights will run daily, bringing a low-fare travel option for passengers travelling from the south London hub.

With this announcement Wizz now offers 84 UK routes from nine airports, as it continues to bring truly low fares and unique travel opportunities to the UK market.

In addition to the new Gatwick to Budapest service, Wizz Air announces further expansion at its Budapest base with a new route to Oslo and an increase in frequency on three popular routes, including Frankfurt, Tel Aviv and Saint Petersburg.

The airline will also base an Airbus A321 aircraft at Budapest from March.

Owain Jones, Wizz Air UK managing director, said: “Once again, Wizz Air further demonstrates its commitment to the UK market by expanding its UK operations, this time at Gatwick.

“The new daily Budapest service joins our popular Bucharest route at the South London airport, providing travellers looking for a city break with a difference even more opportunity to travel on Wizz Air’s low-fare network.”
