This airport consists of two asphalt runways of 2,637 meters and 2,072 meters long, and one 3,110 meter runway that is under construction. 32 million-plus passengers passed through the doors of its one terminal, and there were 226,181 aircraft movements in 2019.
DUB began as a field used during WWI by the British RAF, and by 1922, the field was given to the Irish Free State where the runways fell into disrepair. In the 1930s, a new airport and terminal were built on the site, and after civilian use was limited during WWII, the airport started builidng again in the 1950s. Continuous traffic growth meant that the job of modernization was non-stop for decades. Before the pandemic, 200 cities scheduled flights to and from DUB. After the pandemic, that number was down to 85 cities.
Parking is plentiful at DUB with long- and short-term parking spots, as well as limited mobility spots. Ground transportation includes buses, taxis, rails and rental cars.
