It’s a winner: Le Clos claims Airport Drinks Retailer of the Year 2017 award

UAE. Fine wine and luxury spirit retailer Le Clos was named Airport Drinks Retailer of the Year 2017 at the Drinks International Travel Retail Awards held during TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes earlier this month.

The Maritime and Mercantile International-owned Le Clos operates five outlets at Dubai International Airport.

The retailer said the award follows a year of world record-breaking achievements and is testament to Le Clos’ success in setting new standards in luxury travel retail.

Dubai Airports Commercial Group Executive Vice President Eugene Barry commented: “Le Clos has a unique product offering and expertise that perfectly captures this specialised market segment. The team’s commitment to provide travellers with a memorable experience mirrors what we, as airport operators, aim to achieve every day.”

Le Clos has an extensive portfolio of overe 1,000 wines and 400 spirits. The collection starts from US$28 and includes some of the world’s rarest bottles.

A website enabling customers to shop at their own convenience was launched last year. The company said members of its retail team speak over 20 languages and provide services such as complimentary bottle engraving, in-store tastings and a concierge delivery service.
