Valencia Airport (VLC) is one of the largest and busiest airports in Spain, serving as the gateway to the Mediterranean coast city of Valencia. The airport handles an average of about 6.4 million passengers per year, making it the third busiest in Spain after Madrid and Barcelona. It offers direct flights to a variety of domestic and international destinations, including Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London Heathrow, Moscow Sheremetyevo, New York JFK, and Paris Charles de Gaulle.

The airport was first established in 1933 when a small airstrip with two runways was constructed on the site of today’s facility. In 1948 this airstrip was replaced by a larger airfield known as L’Alqueria de la Comtessa. After undergoing several expansions and renovations throughout the years, this airfield was eventually transformed into what is now Valencia Airport.

Today’s airport features two terminals – Terminal 1 for domestic flights and Terminal 2 for international destinations – connected by a free shuttle service that runs 24 hours a day between them. There are also several shops and restaurants located within both terminals. Additionally, there is an onsite car rental company from which travelers can rent a vehicle for their journey by road.

Valencia Airport has recently undergone major renovation works that have seen its capacity increased substantially since 2008. This has included the construction of additional parking facilities as well as new boarding gates and other improvements to passenger services such as improved Wi-Fi coverage throughout the terminals. The expansion has also seen the introduction of several new carriers such as easyJet and Wizz Air offering services from the airport to various destinations across Europe at competitive fares.

For those looking for transportation between Valencia Airport and their final destination, there are plenty of options available such as taxis or buses which can be conveniently pre-booked online or taken directly outside both terminals upon arrival/departure. Alternatively there are also car hire companies with offices located within both terminals in which you can book a rental car if you do not wish to take public transport or drive your own vehicle to/from VLC Airport.

Overall Valencia Airport provides a great range of services ideally suited to meet all types of travellers needs whether they require short term or long term stays when travelling either domestically or internationally from its premises; offering convenience coupled with affordability for its passengers regardless of budget size or duration spent at this location thanks to its various amenities ranging from family friendly eateries to car rentals for onward journeys once through customs control..

★★★★☆
We had to wait 40 Minutes at Valencia for the luggage to come through. A long time especially when you are waiting for a push chair. There was another flight arriving a few minutes later and their luggage also was put on the same belt. So difficult to get to the bags when there is people from two planes waiting. Other belts were free!!!

★★★☆☆
With quite a few early departures of Valencia it is not an easy way to reach it by public transport as the subway is still closed (thank god my hotel had a taxi delivery service for just 10 euros). The airport facilities were closed too. Starbucks became crowded when it opened the door as first and only. Air conditioning could have been set to a lower temperature as it was quite hot inside

★★★☆☆
I found it really stupid, that after 10PM most the duty free shops are closed, as well as most of restaurants. Think about it, usually most the flights at the end of the day are delayed, people are already starting to get frustrated. This way the shops might even make some sales, and people can't actually bring some presents home.
- Alin Apostol

★★☆☆☆
Minimal facilities at the airport, and long waiting times for check-in. Not a lot of food restaurants, Burger King ran out of meat and a small food shop was full of flies! Not many shops either and if there are, there very limited. The lounge was uncomfortable and the WiFi costed money and hardly worked! Overall, a terrible airport. I recommend not going to that airport. I will rather go to Alicante. Never going back again.
- Lucas George Henders

★★★☆☆
The security check was great and really fast. I like this airport. But I just do not understand why there is no smoking room!
