Indian airline SpiceJet are planning to increase their fleet with one of the largest ever aircraft orders in aviation history. The chairman of SpiceJet, Ajay Singh, announced last Friday that the company is planning to buy up to 205 Boeing 737 aeroplanes with a total cost of $22bn.
SpiceJet said:
“The Boeing 737 class of aircraft has been the backbone of our fleet since SpiceJet began. With the next generation of 737 and the 737 MAX we are sure that we can be competitive and grow profitably.”
