Southampton Airport celebrates busiest summer on record

Southampton Airport has enjoyed a record breaking summer after 445,556 passengers travelled through its doors during July and August, representing an increase of 4.2% compared to the same period last year.

August proved to be the airport’s busiest month on record with 225,682 passengers whilst 219,874 passengers used the airport in July. Prior to this year, the airport’s busiest month had been in August 2016 when 219,757 passengers took to the skies.

Dave Lees, Managing Director at Southampton Airport, said:

“It is brilliant to be able to announce yet another record breaking summer. We hope the arrival of new ski routes with easyJet and powdair this winter will bring even more people to Southampton Airport.”
