USA. The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority has selected personal shopper app AtYourGate as its partner to provide an airport-wide passenger delivery service at San Diego International Airport. The airport claims that this is the first such programme at a US airport.
In partnership with mobile ordering app Grab, AtYourGate will offer passengers the ability to order food or retail items on their phone and have the items brought to them at their gate. San Diego Airport said that passengers would “save time and maximise choice from the entire landscape of food and retail items available at the airport”. The service is currently in development with public launch targeted for this summer.

Mobile ordering app Grab enables travellers to pre-order restaurant and retail service items for pick-up. AtYourGate said it takes the service one step further by delivering items to travellers and flight crews while they wait at their gate.

In addition to providing the new service for passengers, the mobile ordering and gate delivery programme is expected to enhance the visibility of the airport’s concessions programme.
