BNE came from a rural airport that was built in 1925 and was the home to Qantas in 1926. During WWII, General MacArthur used BNE as his headquarters; he upgraded the airfield for military use, which made it suitable for civilian use later. The airport opened its doors in 1988 and was privatized in 1997 on a 50-year lease.
Short- and long-term parking is available, as well as guaranteed spaces in an undercover parking area. Guaranteed parking is exclusive that can only be booked online. Transportation includes ride-share apps, trains, buses and rental cars.
