DENMARK. Copenhagen Airport is extending dining options in its Terminal 2 pre-security area with five new outlets earmarked for autumn openings.
The new eateries will offer a range of Danish and international food and include the Nordic region’s first Pret A Manger, the international sandwich shop chain. Local newcomers include Bar Jacobsens gastropub, 42Raw, which features vegetarian dishes, Thai cuisine expert Wok, and Riccos, which is known for its coffee and home-based products.
The Terminal 2 area, which is included in ongoing expansion work at Copenhagen Airport, will feature characteristic Nordic architecture.
“Denmark’s image as a culinary centre has put us on the gastronomic world map and nurtured an interest from a new group of food enthusiastic tourists,” Copenhagen Airport stated.
“With a unique mix of Nordic gastronomy and international taste experiences, Copenhagen Airport has accordingly established its position among the world’s best airports in terms of the selection of cafés and restaurants.”
Copenhagen Airport Director Airport Sales Lise Ryevad said:
“It is a huge accomplishment for us to be able to mark our new expansion with the first Pret A Manger in the Nordics.
“Denmark is renowned across the world for its expertise within gastronomy and cooking, which is also why it is important for us to offer travellers a broad selection of high quality food & beverage. This is exactly what the five new eateries have in common.”
