Christchurch Airport Reviews

★★★☆☆
Koru Lounge good, great views & seating layout, but food not quite as good as AKL or WLG. Tons of food & shopping options.
- Ash Dando

★★★★☆
The new, intergrated terminal is wonderful, airy and easy to use, it certainly would be a welcoming place for a foreigner be after ones long flight to Christchurch. Perhaps more bi-lingual signs would make it an even more easier to for tourists to get around. Regional section is pretty packed though, I think more thoughtfully placed seatings would be a good idea. Security is firm but kind, and the Wifi is great to use. My biggest gripe about Christchurch Airport is the cost of food, while there are plenty of stores, which is great to see, the pricing makes my eyes water. Exterior wise it is pretty good, nice control tower and gorgeous grass on the front, also plentiful parking, good dropoff/pickup but I do wish Memorial Ave is cleaned up a bit, and the Sudima Hotel could really use a makeover. Other than that a good healthy 4 out of 5.

★★★★★
Very Efficient...Easy Access to airport and close to the city. Check in was fast and the facilities were great. Free WI fi and quick to connect. I found the choices of food and coffee very good and the bar at the airport was of a very high standard with great views out towards the air side and mountains. There could be more shops there for travelers The Koru lounge was excellent and also had a great wiew out over the airport and towards the mountains.
- Peter Lowe

★★★★★
Very nice and recently renovated domestic terminal both ground-side and air-side, with food and retails outlets for both sides which is really good when transitting for a connecting flight. Good view of apron and runway from the waiting areas by the upstairs gates. Gate 19 has a fantastic astronomy themed air-bridge complete with 'stars'!
- Anita

★★★★★
Very much upgraded airport since I last went here in December 2011. Has flights to many places across NZ and to Australia, Fiji, Tokyo and Singapore and others. Great facilities and easy to manoeuvre for the size of airport. I believe this airport is the key to rebuilding the quake stricken Christchurch and needs to be used for long range flights to the U.S, Perth and possibly South America.
- Wilson Currie

★★★★★
With the terminal building now fully functional (parts were still being finished at the time I last used this airport) retailing is good excellent food hall great range of different foods available to satisfy all IMO. check in facilities are excellent well thought out and the arrival hall likewise is also excellent.Overall a good terminal to navigate.
- Rodney O'Leary

★★★☆☆
There's nothing to do once airside and the windows provide minimal views out to the tarmac. There is nothing to protect you from the terrible low sun angles which make the place quite warm and unpleasant. Very disappointing overall as the airport wasn't bad a few years back.
- Alister

★★★★★
Baggage claim was quick. Getting thru the airport was easy. Taxis were available for those who got thru early enough. Traffic was light.
- TheRevG

★★★★☆
They don't check Passports or ID if you board a domestic flight, thats crazy! I think they should check it because of security reasons.
- Till Hübner

★★★☆☆
Regional departure area has limited seating for the number of flights departing. A couple of expensive cafes.
