Beer with a bite: Emirates Leisure Retail opens Tiger Den bar at Changi Airport Terminal 4

SINGAPORE. Emirates Leisure Retail (ELR) has opened the Tiger Den bar at Changi Airport’s new Terminal 4.

The bar, which features distinctive local theming (see below) is named after Singapore’s popular Tiger Beer. It serves several variants of Tiger and a range of cocktails. The menu features a range of street-food-style bites, including signature dishes such as Chili Crab Bao Bun, Keema Nachos and Beef Yakitori skewers.

The bar features artwork painted with ‘Air Ink’, a unique type of ink made entirely from air pollution to highlight environmental concerns.

Tiger Den is positioned adjacent to the departure gates. It offers an express menu, guaranteeing that all food will be served within ten minutes, and a takeaway service.

ELR Chief Operating Officer Kevin Zajax said: “We are delighted to introduce Tiger Den exclusively to Changi Airport as a global first concept. After the success of Pret a Manger, Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck and Hudsons Coffee in Terminal 3, we’re confident that Tiger Den will be a much-loved addition to Changi Airport.”

Changi Airport Group Senior Vice President of Airside Concessions Division Teo Chew Hoon said: “The opening of Tiger Den adds to the variety of dining experiences we offer our passengers at Changi Airport. Passengers will be delighted with Tiger Den’s extensive range of Tiger Beers served fresh from a custom-built draft beer system, and their locally-inspired food selection. We hope to bring a new experience through this partnership with Emirates Leisure Retail by showcasing an established brand that resonates with travellers and locals alike.”

Tiger Den has been designed around the extensive use of raw and industrial materials, with furniture made from attractive reclaimed steel and timber. It features hand-painted artwork throughout with a one-off piece created by local Singaporean street artist, Kit.

Other artwork incorporates elements of both Dubai and Singapore, painted using ‘Air Ink’. This unique ink is made entirely from air pollution to highlight the struggles with pollution faced by all the world’s major cities.

Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore Marketing Director Venus Teoh said: “Born and brewed locally since 1932, Tiger is truly the national beer of Singapore. As a brand that continuously explores new ways to stretch boundaries and uncage creativity, we are delighted that the Tiger Den at T4 will embrace our strong connections to local street food and showcase sustainable art made locally. Travellers can look forward to enjoying the full range of Tiger beers, including Tiger Black, Tiger White and Tiger Radler variants.”

Dubai-headquartered ELR manages and operates over 300 outlets, including 80 airport premises across 13 domestic and international airports.
