Avianca to connect Bogota to Boston, Massachusetts

Avianca has started four weekly direct flights from Boston to the airline’s hub in Bogota, Colombia, offering travellers 960 seats per week.

This new route operates four times per week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday on the Bogota – Boston route, and on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday on the Boston – Bogota route.

Avianca operates from Terminal E at the Boston Logan International Airport to the El Dorado Airport in Bogota, on Airbus A319 aircraft with a capacity for 120 passengers, 12 in Business Class and 108 on Economy Class.

“With this with new addition to our route network, Avianca becomes the first and only airline to directly join Boston with Bogota and vice versa, connecting travellers coming from the state of Massachusetts more efficiently to the main capitals in Latin America.

“On their part, travellers from South America will be able to fly more easily to key destinations in New England,” added Hernan Rincon, president of Avianca.

The schedule on which the Boston – Bogota route will operate expands connection possibilities – through the Bogota hub – with destinations such as Quito and Guayaquil (Ecuador), Lima (Peru), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and Santiago de Chile.

It also increases the possibilities to arrive to destinations within Colombia, such as Cali, Medellin, Barranquilla, Pereira and Cartagena, among other cities.

“Colombia has become a must-see destination for tourism and business in the wake of a peace agreement that ended a 52-year armed conflict.

This new flight reflects on the new Colombian reality, full of opportunities to attract more travellers from the US that are looking for cultural, natural and MICE experiences,” explained Felipe Jaramillo, president of ProColombia.
