Originally known as Virgin Blue Airlines, Virgin Australia (VA) is Australia second-largest airline. It also owns two subsidiaries: low-cost carrier Tigerair Australia (TT) and Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VA). Founded in 2000, it operates from hubs at Auckland Airport (AKL), Brisbane Airport (BNE), Melbourne Airport (MEL) and Sydney Airport (SYD). Virgin Australia flies to about 50 destinations, the majority of which are domestic.
