Van Nuys Airport is an important business hub in the Greater Los Angeles area, located just 14 miles northwest of downtown LA. It is one of the world’s busiest general aviation airports, and the third busiest airport in the United States after Chicago O’Hare and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The airport has over 600 acres of property, including three runways, a heliport, and a variety of hangars and taxiways that make it an ideal location for business flights.

Van Nuys Airport was established in 1928 by businessman Carl Vinson, who would later become known as one of the most influential individuals in aviation history. Initially serving only military aircraft, it wasn’t until 1937 when commercial airlines began to operate out of the airport. During World War II, it served as a training facility for fighter pilots who were preparing for combat overseas. After the war ended and commercial airlines resumed operations at Van Nuys Airport, it quickly developed into one of the nation’s main hubs for private aviation services.

Today, Van Nuys Airport remains an important center for both business and recreational flying activities. Over 11 million passengers pass through its gates annually – making it one of the busiest airports in terms of passenger traffic – while around 250 aircraft take off or land on its two active runways every day.
