Tenerife South Airport is an airport located on the island of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands of Spain. It is the second busiest airport in the country, with around 15 million passengers annually. The airport is located about 13 kilometers from Reina Sofia Beach and about 25 kilometers from Santa Cruz de la Palma.

The airport was opened in 1978 as a small regional airport. Since then it has grown to become one of the largest airports in Europe, with two runways and three terminals. “ Security was awful. Burger King just too expensive (just under 5€ for a Cheeseburger) so I didn't buy in the end. And them the toilets also smelt awful. So the only positive thing really was that the flight left on time. Oh I forgot to mention that I couldnt use a mobile boarding pass for some unkwown reason :(”

“ The Spanish Security guys are a bit confused. You need to unpack every think but they don’t even have a look on their screen. Almost everybody needs to go to security twice because there been not very god organized. They also open a close the checkpoint randomly in peak traffic so the airplane gets delayed on outbound. The Public bus connection to TFS is perfectly organized. All facilities other than security are perfectly prepared for tourists as it isn’t a business airport.”

“ Airport is not really big. I saw big queues to the check-ins. Fortunately I didn't have problem with it. The sings are not so clear to read if You are there for the first time. Getting out from the airport is easy, all rental car offices are available before after the exit. But if You are going for a plane there, You might get lost. The signs are not big enough, not enough noticeable. Duty free shops are pretty cheap in compare to other in West Europe but still have higher prices than in average store in Tenerife (expect some products). Getting to the airport is really easy - just by highway, unfortunately it might be traffic jams at the evening. Logging to WiFi not always works correctly. For me it didn't work any at all, for my girlfriend it worked ok.”

“ We got to the Airport by bus. We had to wait very long until we could Check-In. Same thing at the security check. The terminal is very nice and you don't have to hunger at any time of being in this Building. 30 minutes of free WiFi is included => average. All in all a pretty nice Airport :)”
