Singapore Changi announces retail openings and +7.8% April passenger traffic increase

SINGAPORE. Hugo Boss and Victoria’s Secret have opened their second and third Changi Airport stores respectively.

A number of food & beverage outlets have also opened at the airport. As reported, Hudsons Coffee and Pret a Manger have started serving in the transit area of Terminal 3. It is Hudsons Coffee’s first store outside of Australia, and Pret a Manger’s first presence in Singapore. Both outlets have drawn inspiration from local flavours and have special items on their menu such as pandan cake and coconut-flavoured coffee.

In the public areas at Basement 2, Ya Kun Family Café has re-opened. It now features Beard Papa, which is renowned for its cream puffs.

Changi Airport handled 5.17 million passengers in April, a +7.8% year-on-year increase. Aircraft movements were +3.8% higher at 30,570 landings and takeoffs.

Passenger traffic for the month was boosted by growth across all regions except the Middle East, the airport said. Nine out of Changi’s top 20 country markets registered double-digit growth, including India (+16%), Indonesia (+16%) and Malaysia (11%).

The airport registered its one billionth passenger during April, since its opening on 1 July 1981.
