Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is located in Salt Lake City, Utah. It is the largest airport in the state of Utah and serves as a hub for Delta Air Lines, Allegiant Air, and Frontier Airlines. The airport is also served by several other major airlines including United Airlines, American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and JetBlue Airways. SLC offers direct flights to more than 80 cities across the United States, as well as international destinations in Canada, Mexico, Europe and Asia.
The airport consists of two terminals – Terminal 1 (T1) and Terminal 2 (T2). T1 is the main terminal and services most domestic flights while T2 services some international flights. Both terminals are equipped with modern amenities such as WiFi access throughout the terminal buildings, electronic information kiosks to provide flight information and currency exchange services. There are also several restaurants and shops available for travelers before or after their flight.
In addition to its commercial air traffic services, Salt Lake City International Airport also operates general aviation facilities at South Valley Regional Airport (U42), which serves private aircrafts from around the world. This includes a 24-hour control tower that monitors all activity on the field; three runways; a full-service FBO providing fuel services, maintenance & air charter; aircraft hangarage; pilot lounges; restaurant & bar; and 24/7 UAV operations support.
The airport’s long-term plans include numerous upgrades to improve passenger experience such as expanding terminal capacity with additional gates and ticketing counters, replacing outdated baggage systems with new ones that allow faster processing times at security checkpoints and baggage claim areas, upgrading IT systems for better customer service offerings through mobile applications or self-check-in options. They are also planning improvements to parking lots by increasing short-term parking spaces near Departures/Arrivals area for quick access to airports or adding more electric vehicle charging stations for improved environmental sustainability efforts.
