Safe Bag extends contract at Venice Marco Polo Airport for five years

ITALY. Luggage protection and tracing services company Safe Bag has renewed its contract at Venice Marco Polo Airport through airport company SAVE. The new five-year concession covers bag wrapping, tracing and the sale of travel goods. The updated agreement, which follows a tender, will begin from the end of July.

Safe Bag CEO Alessandro Notari said: “After the recent tender awards at Venice and Rome and previous ones at Bologna and Naples, all that is left is Milan to complete our position in the main Italian airports.”

Chairman Rudolph Gentile added: “We are proud to continue our 20-year partnership with the SAVE Group and Aeroporto di Venezia, also in view of the new terminal which will increase the number of passengers.”

Venice Airport, the fourth largest airport in Italy, recorded around 9.7 million passengers in 2016. In the first five months of 2017, traffic grew by +6.6% year-on-year.
