OR Tambo International Airport, located in Johannesburg, South Africa, is the primary airport for the Gauteng province. With over 28 million passengers served each year and more than 900 000 aircraft movements annually, it’s one of the busiest airports on the African continent. The airport is named after Oliver Reginald Tambo, a leader in the struggle against apartheid who served as President of the African National Congress (ANC) from 1967 to 1991.

OR Tambo International Airport covers an area of 13 square kilometres and is comprised of two terminals with 56 gates, three runways and two large cargo terminals. With its state-of-the-art facilities, including world class shopping and dining options such as designer boutiques, electronics outlets and a variety of food outlets such as fast food chains and sit down restaurants, OR Tambo is one of the most luxurious airports in the world.
