Milestone for Toulouse-Blagnac Airport Terminal Expansion

The Toulouse-Blagnac Airport’s shareholders met on Wednesday June 28 to lay the foundation stone for the facility’s expansion project.

Work to extend the terminal began earlier this year. Two construction sites, north and south, were identified. At the northern site, an extension of Hall D will be used to accommodate all its security checkpoints and provide access to a large shopping and dining area. To the south, Hall A is already being extended. It will have a jetty dedicated to low-cost and regional companies who prefer to operate from walk in-walk out boarding gates. The work is scheduled for completion next year.

The project is being undertaken in collaboration with the French Government, the Toulouse Chamber of Commerce and Industry, local authorities and other airport shareholders. Local banks, Caisse d’Epargne of Midi-Pyrénées and Banque Populaire Occitane, largely financed the project. Several construction companies have been selected for this project including Socotrap, Bourdarrios or Fauché, plus the prime contractor, Kardham, and the OTCE design office.
