Malfy gin launches Sicilian blood orange con Arancia expression in travel retail

Gin brand Malfy, owned by Biggar & Leith, has added Sicilian blood orange expression con Arancia to its offer.

Malfy con Arancia is rolling out to duty free markets including Italy, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia over the next few months. It will be priced at €35 for a 1-litre bottle. The gin is available in the UK domestic market from today.

Con Arancia is first distilled with Sicilian blood oranges which have been awarded Protected Geographical Status. Five additional botanicals: lemon peel, grapefruit peel, angelica root, orris root and coriander are then distilled in a stainless steel vacuum still for five hours.

On the palate con Arancia offers citrus-forward, raspberry-like flavours balanced by classic herbal notes. Sweet orange zest finishes the taste profile.

Biggar & Leith Founder and Owner Elwyn Gladstone said: “After months of experimentation and hard work, we’re excited to introduce Malfy con Arancia to the UK. Not only is this expression incredibly versatile, offering consumers further choice in both long serves and cocktails, its frosted glass bottle is unique to the gin category and will impress and delight gin-lovers and those new to the category alike.

“It’s important to us that Malfy gin offers consumers an authentic, impressive taste of Italy anywhere in the world and Malfy gin con Arancia, as with all expressions in the range, continues to champion both Italy’s heritage as the founding country of gin and Italy’s unparalleled produce.

“The timing of this release is a direct response to the UK’s particular interest in discovering and experimenting with Italian culture and produce, with gin at the very heart of that. Further afield, Malfy gin has grown to become one of the fastest growing super-premium gin brands in the world, with our range now available in over 50 countries.”
