Lotte Duty Free hosts Chanel Ink Library pop-up event in Seoul

SOUTH KOREA. Lotte Duty Free last month hosted the popular Chanel Ink Library beauty concept pop-up at the retailer’s Myeong-dong store in Seoul to celebrate the launch of Chanel’s longwear ultra-matte liquid lipstick Rouge Allure Ink Fusion.

The pop-up event, held on 14-15 December, allowed visitors to write their own stories with Rouge Allure Ink Fusion. The ‘Ink Library’, replete with large books on bookshelves, evoked three themes of the ‘Allure of Chanel’ – boldness, passion and freedom.

Visitors passed through the bookshelves to enter a space dedicated to an exclusive makeup look. Chanel Global Creative Makeup & Colour Designer Lucia Pica conceived the concept in collaboration with Chanel Makeup Creation Studio.

The Chanel Ink Library, previously featured in local market department stores in South Korea (see video below) and China, allows visitors to complete their own lip profile by scanning their lips and testing the colours of Rouge Allure Ink Fusion. Consumers can then personalise their own stories by choosing quotes from the Allure of Chanel dedicated to boldness, passion and freedom.

The Chanel Ink Library housed a collection of titles inspired by Rouge Allure Ink Fusion, while the makeup table was reminiscent of a library’s single-room study table. At the table, visitors could discover Chanel’s various makeup products and Gabriel Chanel perfume.
