CHINA. Ian Macleod Distillers (IMD) has partnered with China Duty Free Group (CDFG) to launch the oldest Glengoyne Highland single malt whisky, a travel retail-exclusive.
The Glengoyne 53 Year Old is priced at US$33,000 and presented in a hand-blown decanter, with only 100 pieces available worldwide. It features with CDFG this month prior to its roll-out with other selected travel retailers.
The launch marks the start of a “highly strategic” relationship with CDFG, IMG said.
China Duty Free Group President Charles Chen commented: “The addition of Glengoyne to our portfolio is very exciting and we relish the global launch opportunity to share Glengoyne 53 Year Old with whisky enthusiasts in the fast-growing single malt whisky market of China duty free, especially in Hainan.
