‘Home for Christmas’: London Heathrow offers limited-edition silk scarf and gift-wrapping services

UK. London Heathrow Airport has collaborated with British luxury scarf designer Karen Mabon to create a festive ‘Home for Christmas’ design. It celebrates the 2.5 million arrivals expected during the holiday season.

The exclusive print features on a limited-edition silk scarf and in the airport’s gift-wrapping service.

Some 200 scarves are available to passengers who make a purchase using Heathrow’s complimentary personal shopping service in the airport throughout November and December. A limited number of the scarves are also available online at KarenMabon.com.

The design includes the two bears, Doris and Edward, who starred in Heathrow’s first Christmas advertisement last year. It also features on special-edition free gift wrap, gift bags and tags. The Christmas wrapping service will be available to passengers who purchase gifts in any store across all terminals, in exchange for an Oxfam donation, between 18 November and 2 January.

Mabon commented: “I am thrilled to be working with Heathrow to design an exclusive print for the limited-edition scarf and gift wrap. I really enjoyed the design process which was inspired by the fact that Heathrow brings you closer to the ones you love – after all that’s what makes Christmas special.”

Heathrow Retail and Service Director Chris Annetts said: “We are delighted to be working with Karen Mabon to bring Heathrow passengers a little touch of luxury which captures the sentiment of reuniting with loved ones for the Christmas season.”
