The first service between Glasgow Airport and the Norwegian city of Bergen departed on May 5, provided by Scotland’s airline Loganair.
Operating a twice-weekly summer service from Glasgow to ‘the Gateway to the Fjords of Norway’, the regional carrier will connect the two cities for the first time. The route will be operated by a 50-seat Saab 2000 aircraft from Glasgow, the only link from Scotland’s Central Belt to the city.
Paul White, Glasgow Airport’s Business Development Manager, said: “This is fantastic news from Loganair which is one of our longest serving airline partners. We are continually working to expand our route network and this is the first time Glasgow will have had a direct, scheduled service to Norway’s second city. I have no doubt Bergen will prove to be a huge draw for leisure travellers and we’re looking forward to working closely with Loganair to ensure the success of the route.”
