Air Europa receives latest Dreamliner as fleet overhaul continues

Air Europa has added an eighth Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner to its fleet, with the aircraft beginning operations on the airline’s Madrid-Lima route.

In just one year and three months, Air Europa has incorporated eight B787-8 aircraft into its long-haul network, becoming the first Spanish airline to have this state-of-the-art aircraft.

The rest of the Dreamliner fleet is deployed on Air Europa’s routes to Miami, Bogota, Santo Domingo, Buenos Aires and Havana.

The delivery of the eighth Dreamliner marks the completion of phase one of the airline’s renovation project.

The second phase will gradually introduce 14 Boeing 787-9 aircraft between 2018 and 2022.

Air Europa will also receive 20 new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft from 2020, marking the completion of its transition to a fleet composed entirely of Boeing aircraft.

Air Europa UK director, Colin Stewart, said:

“Since the launch of the route in 2010, Lima has consistently been one of our strongest performing destinations.

“UK passengers can start their journey in London Gatwick, connect quickly and easily through our Madrid hub, and now enjoy the comforts of the Dreamliner for their onward journey to Peru.

“With eight Dreamliners now in operation, our ambitions are being realized to become the benchmark airline connecting Europe with the Americas, with a cutting-edge fleet, excellent connectivity and premium on-board services.”

The 787-8 Dreamliner is fuel-efficient, has lower emissions, operating costs and is quiet.

The cabin features are impressive; spacious and elegant and will ensure maximum comfort for Air Europa’s passengers, with a high-quality inflight entertainment system and on-board Wi-Fi.

Air Europa’s Dreamliner is configured for 296 passengers; 22 in business class and 274 in economy class.
