Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah International Airport, located in Subang, Malaysia, is the fourth busiest airport in the country. It has two runways and currently serves more than 8 million passengers annually. The airport was opened in 1965 as a military airbase and was later converted into an international airport in 1974. It serves as a gateway to Kuala Lumpur and its surrounding areas and has become an important part of the local economy.
The airport is managed by Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB), which is the largest airport operator in Southeast Asia with over 50 airports across Malaysia, Turkey and India. In addition to serving domestic flights, Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport also offers international services to select destinations including Australia, China, Japan, Singapore and Thailand. With major airlines such as AirAsia, Malaysian Airlines and Qatar Airways operating from here it is easy for travelers to reach almost any destination around the world.
The airport has been constantly upgraded to meet the needs of its ever growing number of passengers. In 2014 it underwent refurbishment which upgraded it with modern amenities such as new check-in counters, passenger lounges and a larger duty free shopping area that offers shoppers a wider selection of products and services at competitive prices. There’s also now a nicer food court with more seating available that serves both Malaysian delicacies as well as international cuisine options.
In addition to being one of the top airports in Southeast Asia in terms of passenger traffic, Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport is also home to several aviation schools such as Regal Flying School, Alpha Aviation Academy and Subang Flying Academy that provide training for aspiring pilots or those simply looking for recreational flying experience. These schools have seen an increasing number of people enrolling each year due to their excellent curriculum that focuses on safety first when it comes to flying aircrafts.
Not only does this airport offer all these convenience for travelers but it also stands out for its warm hospitality with friendly staff who are always willing to help customers in whatever way they can from bus booking services online check-in counters or even luggage assistance. This makes traveling through this busy hub much more enjoyable for its visitors despite how hectic things can get during peak periods at times!
