Bergen Airport, also known as Flesland Airport, is the second busiest airport in Norway and the fifth busiest in all of Scandinavia. Located around 20 kilometers south of Bergen city center, it is the main hub for domestic flights throughout Norway and a major gateway to overseas destinations. The airport has two terminals—one for international flights and one for domestic—as well as a general aviation terminal (GAT) that serves private planes, helicopters and tourist charter flights.
Bergen Airport has an impressive array of amenities available, including restaurants, snack bars, duty-free shops, gift shops, an ATM machine and several car rental desks. It also offers information desks with multilingual staff who can provide assistance with flight information, airport services and other tourist activities in the area. The airport is well connected to public transportation options such as bus routes and train connections to various cities across Norway. Additionally there are taxi services which offer transport from the airport directly into Bergen city centre.
The airport also provides many different types of business services like meeting rooms for conferences or meetings in addition to executive lounges for passengers that have access privileges. It also has a number of conference facilities available for hire by businesses. There are several art installations located within the departure hall which give visitors an appreciation of Norwegian culture during their stay at the airport.
Bergen Airport was first opened on August 10th 1955 and since then it has grown significantly to accommodate over 6 million passengers every year travelling through its gates both domestically and internationally.
