Thessaloniki Airport (SKG) is located 14 km away from the city of Thessaloniki, Greece. It is an international airport that serves as a hub for seasonal and charter flights to destinations throughout Europe and beyond. As one of the busiest airports in Greece, it also serves as a secondary hub for Aegean Airlines.

Thessaloniki Airport has two terminals, Terminal A and Terminal B. Terminal A primarily handles domestic traffic from Greek cities such as Athens and Crete, while Terminal B is used for international flights to destinations outside the country. Both terminals have a wide range of amenities including duty-free shopping, restaurants and cafes, car hire services, and ATM machines.

The airport has two runways: 05/23 for larger aircrafts such as Boeing 737s and Airbus A320s; and 16/34 for smaller aircrafts such as ATR 72s and Embraer EMB 120 Brasilias. It covers an area of 562 hectares (1,400 acres) with a total of eleven gates which can accommodate both small turboprop planes and large airliners alike. The airport’s full operational capacity is approximately 11 million passengers per year while its annual traffic count currently stands at around 6 million passengers annually.

Thessaloniki Airport offers both passenger services and cargo services carried out through its main cargo terminal situated in the north eastern part of the airport grounds. The cargo terminal has modern equipment that helps speed up cargo loading operations allowing it to handle up to 12 tons of goods per hour. The cargo operation includes four air carriers; Aegean Airlines Cargo which operates mainly within Europe; Hellenic Airways Cargo which specializes in freight shipments to Cyprus; Blue Airline Logistics providing freight services between Turkey and Greece; and Sky Express Cargo operating mainly within Greece but also offering export transportation services worldwide.
