Luxottica Group has refurbished the sunglasses department in the departures area at Colombia’s Bogota International Airport to make more room for brands Ray-Ban and Oakley.
A new Ray-Ban shop-in-shop and Oakley backwall form part of the newly renovated 182sq m accessories outlet at the airport. The sunglasses refurbishment was carried out by Luxottica in partnership with Panama-based Attenza Duty Free, which is owned by Motta Internacional.
The expanded sunglasses space now covers 56sq m and opened on 22 June. It features 21 brands, with a +60% increase in display capacity.
Luxottica reports that the Ray-Ban and Oakley personalisations have led to immediate results. Sales from the two brands have increased +12% compared to the monthly sales trend from January to May 2017. During the same month, Attenza Duty Free’s total sunglasses category monthly sales at Bogota grew +33%, compared to January-June 2016.
