LVMH-owned fragrance house Givenchy is poised to launch its first fragrance under the leadership of President Romain Spitzer.
Gentleman Givenchy, the new masculine fragrance, is said to mark the first milestone of an ambitious brand transformation project. The scent will launch in global travel retail on 1 September, except for France, where it will launch on 21 September in line with the domestic market. The launch will be supported by a high profile campaign in France in September followed by one in Russia.
Gentleman Givenchy is a modern reinvention of the original Gentleman scent which launched in 1975. The woody, floral fougère fragrance features the same patchouli-leather accord as the original. Other notes include lavender, iris and sweet pear.
The fragrance bottle echoes that of the original but the difference can be seen in the modern details. A glossy black lacquer adorns the cap and a black band wraps around the bottle.
English actor, singer and dancer Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays the role of the new Givenchy Gentleman in visuals and films shot by Sam Taylor-Johnson.
