This airport covers 700 acres and has one 3,407 asphalt runway where 15,356 aircrafts moved over it in 2021. Its two terminals served over 1.6 passengers from April 2021 to March 2022, which is down from the 4.4 million passengers served in 2018-19.
TRV was started by the Royal Flying Club in 1932, and its first flight was a mail carrier to Bombay in 1935. The Boeing 707s showed up in the 1970s, and the airport was upgraded to international status in 1991. A new international terminal was added in 2011, and the first flight out of the new terminal was to Dubai. The international terminal can service one Boeing 747 and three Airbus A340s at once, which is about 1,500 passengers. The terminal can service 1.8 million passengers annually. There are plans to demolish the domestic terminal for expansion.
Parking is available for short- and long-term in a maintained parking lot. Ground transportation includes buses and taxis. There are numerous places to shop and dine within the terminals.
