Seve Ballesteros-Santander Airport is an international airport located near the northern Spanish city of Santander in the autonomous community of Cantabria. Formerly known as Parayas Airport, it is named after one of Spain’s most iconic golfers, Seve Ballesteros. The airport serves over two million passengers each year and has become a major gateway for travellers flying to and from Spain’s northern coast.

The airport was opened in May 1967 and was originally used for domestic flights mostly serving the nearby cities of Bilbao, San Sebastian and Valladolid. It was then extended to include international destinations such as Madrid, Barcelona, London Gatwick, Amsterdam Schiphol and Frankfurt am Main. As air traffic increased over time, more extensions were made to the airport resulting in a larger terminal building with three new boarding gates and other facilities such as baggage handling areas and shops.

The airport also features a wide variety of amenities that make it convenient for travelers to use. This includes restaurants serving both traditional Cantabrian cuisine and international cuisine, a variety of shops where you can buy souvenirs or gifts, duty-free shops where you can purchase items without paying taxes, ATMs where you can withdraw money from your bank account, Wi-Fi access (for free) throughout the terminal area, currency exchange offices that offer competitive rates on foreign currency conversions, car rental services in case you need transportation to reach your destination quickly and easily once you arrive at the airport.

Seve Ballesteros-Santander Airport has two main runways which are suitable for both commercial traffic as well as general aviation operations. Both runways are equipped with CAT I Instrument Landing Systems (ILS) providing pilots with visibility down to 200ft during bad weather conditions which helps ensure safety during landings even when visibility drops significantly due to fog or heavy rain. The airport also features modern air traffic control systems which allow air traffic controllers to better manage flight operations while ensuring safety at all times.

In addition to its passenger services Seve Ballesteros-Santander Airport also provides cargo operations with two dedicated cargo terminals located close by the main passenger terminal building. The cargo terminals have plenty of space for storing large shipments as well as specialized aircraft parking area equipped with refueling services for cargo planes that require longer stops at the airport before flying off again.

For those looking for leisure activities there is plenty on offer too including an observation deck located on top of one of the buildings where visitors can take picturesque views across Santander bay or admire local wildlife such as seagulls soaring through the sky; a range of restaurants offering fine dining experiences; art exhibitions featuring work from local artists; parks full of lush vegetation; a shopping center; cinemas showing recent films; museums exploring culture and history; outdoor sports facilities including football pitches and tennis courts open all year round; plus several attractions that cater specifically towards children including playgrounds full of fun activities like trampolines or bouncy castles or mini rides like carousels or roller coasters!

It's a small airport, but it has many flights to different countries. The most importat airline in this airport is Ryanair, but it also has Vueling and Iberia. It's close to the city centre, and there are many buses to get there every 30 min, from 7.00am to 11pm. There are also Alsa buses that link the airport to Bilbao, Gijón, Oviedo, Laredo...
