INDIA. Luxury watch house Helios has entered the travel retail sector with its debut airport store in India at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) Terminal 1.
Helios describes itself as India’s leading watch store chain, offering a range of international watch brands in each location.
The Titan-owned brand said it was attracted to the GVK Mumbai International Airport Private Limited-run airport (MIAL) by its expansive retail arena coupled with high passenger footfall.
The Helios airport offer includes over 30 international brands. It caters primarily to a younger audience, reflecting the fact that most of the company’s shoppers are under 40.
GVK Mumbai International Airport Pvt. Ltd (MIAL) is a Public Private Partnership joint venture between a GVK-led consortium and the Airports Authority of India. GVK MIAL was awarded the mandate for operating and modernising Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai (CSIA).
GVK MIAL aims to make CSIA one of the world’s best airports. The new integrated Terminal 2 at CSIA enhances the airport’s capacity to over 45 million passengers.
