Southampton Airport is a major international airport in Hampshire, England. It serves the popular holiday destinations of Bournemouth, the New Forest and Isle of Wight and provides flights to numerous cities across Europe. The airport began operations in 1936 as Southampton Municipal Airport and was later renamed Southampton International Airport in 1986. Today, it is a hub for airlines such as Flybe, Eastern Airways and Loganair and offers more than 40 destinations.
