Chengdu Shuangliu Airport (IATA: CTU, ICAO: ZUUU), is an airport serving the Chengdu area in China. This airport has two 3,600-meter runways; one is concrete and one is asphalt. 40 million passengers, 629,422 tonnes of cargo and 300,862 aircraft movements were recorded in 2021. In 2019, over 55 million passengers went through facilities. Over 50 carriers make a stop at CTU.
CTU began as a military field in the 1930s and was only big enough to handle bi-planes. During WWII, the USAAF used the base for the China Defensive Campaign and flew Thunderbolt fighters from the base. In 1956, it went back into civilian use and began expanding the airport to accommodate larger planes. It serves over 50 international and 170 domestic destinations. In the late 2000s, it received a new runway to handle the Airbus A380 and a new terminal that would help handle 50 million passengers.
Parking is available for short- and long-stay visits. Transportation to and from the airport includes buses, taxis, high-speed rail and metro lines.

I had traveled from Chengdu to Lhasa. This flight is international Chengdu - Lhasa - Katmandu. To check-in for Katmandu destination you should go in T1 terminal. To check-in for domestic flight to Lhasa i had to pass to T2 terminal. I wasted my time and money to meet check-in in time! WiFi is very very bad!”
