This airport has one 2,745-meter concrete runway and one terminal with 40 check-in stations, five jet bridges and 10 gates. Almost 3 million passengers went through the terminal in 2019 and most of the traffic is seasonal with this being a holiday destination.
OLB began as a military airfield that was the home to seaplanes, but after it was bombed in WWII, it was abandoned when the war ended. It was not until 1963 that commercial flights came back to the airport. Jet flights made it necessary to rebuild and move the airport to handle the planes and traffic. In 2004, the new 42,000 square meter airport was unveiled. The new airport is home to shopping, a wine bar, an art gallery and indoor gardens.
There are over 1,000 parking spaces and long- and short-term parking is available and seasonal tickets for frequent guests. Airport transportation includes taxis, buses and trains.
