Beauvais–Tillé Airport, also known as Paris–Beauvais Airport or simply Beauvais Airport, is an international airport located in the commune of Tillé in the Oise department, approximately 8 miles north-northwest of the city center of Beauvais and roughly 85 miles from Paris. It’s mainly used for low-cost airlines such as Ryanair.
Beauvais–Tillé Airport has one single terminal building which handles both domestic and international passengers. The terminal building contains check-in desks, baggage reclaim area and one meeting room for business travelers. There are also several shops and restaurants located in the departure hall. In addition to this, there is a currency exchange office as well as ATMs provided in the building. The airport also provides free Wi-Fi connection to all its users.
In terms of transport connections, there are frequent shuttle buses that operate between Beauvais–Tillé Airport and Charles de Gaulle International Airport (CDG). Passengers can also take the train from Gare du Nord which connects them to multiple cities throughout France including Paris’ urban area. Those who prefer taxi services can find it outside the arrivals hall where licensed taxis with metered fares are available 24 hours a day.
Beauvais–Tillé Airport was opened in 1965 after its first runway was built by British engineers hired by Charles de Gaulle during World War II when it operated as an airbase for military operations against Germany. It operates flights to over 50 destinations worldwide with some of its most popular destinations being London-Stansted, Dublin , Madrid-Barajas, Barcelona El Prat, Milan Bergamo and Prague Václav Havel Airports among others. Last year alone more than 4 million passengers used Beauvais–Tillé Airport making it one of the most important airports in France outside Paris metropolitan area.
