If you’ve ever been stranded at an airport for a few hours or more, then you know how frustrating it can be. You just want to get on your plane and get home already! But sometimes things don’t go as planned and you find yourself stuck in the terminal waiting after delays. Although this is not exactly how most of us would like to spend our time, there are some activities that can make your wait bearable and even fun! Here are some suggestions of what to do when you’re stranded at an airport.
1. Find a Comfy Spot
Take advantage of the long layover and find yourself a comfortable spot either near a window or a power outlet for charging devices if needed. There’s nothing worse than being cooped up in one place for extended periods of time with no place to move around or escape; so make sure to scope out an area where you’ll feel comfortable and able to relax.
2. Explore the Airport Shops & Restaurants
With the extra time at hand, now’s your chance explore those shops & restaurants you haven’t had the chance to check out before! From souvenirs and local specialties, to duty-free items and books – take your pick from the selection of products available in each store then grab something yummy from one of their many eateries afterwards (most airports nowadays have plenty of options).
3. Catch Up on Some Reading & Entertainment
Boredom during airport waiting can set in quickly – but luckily there’s no need to suffer anymore! Download audiobooks or movies onto your device before heading out (or check out magazines from their newsstands) so that you’ll have plenty of entertainment for your journey when stuck in one place for long hours; take this opportunity during delay periods to catch up on some reading & entertainment that have been neglected previously due to lack of time!
4. Exercise & Stretch Out Those Legs
Skip the boredom by getting off your seat and stretching those legs – even if it’s just walking around inside terminals – this movement helps stimulate blood flow which will give energy levels a much needed boost as well as help pass time quicker while waiting till boarding begins again. A lot of airports nowadays also offer yoga classes usually held at their lounges which helps travelers destress through exercise & meditation practice; join these sessions during layovers if possible depending upon timetable availability!
5. Connect With Friends & Family Using Wi-Fi
Use free wifi provided by airports, most times they provide unlimited bandwidth with fast connection speeds so start chatting away with friends & family back home using social media applications such Skype or Facetime – send them updates on progress via these platforms plus check flight statuses directly from airline websites too just incase any changes occur on timing/ gate number etc..
