Vilnius Airport (IATA: VNO, ICAO: EYVI) (Lithuanian: Vilniaus oro uostas) is the international airport of Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. It is located 5.9 km (3.7 mi) south of the city. It is the largest of the four commercial airports in Lithuania by passenger traffic. Today, Vilnius Airport is one of the fastest-growing airports in Europe. With one runway and an estimated 3.3 million passengers a year, Vilnius Airport serves as a base for Ryanair, Wizz Air and Small Planet Airlines.

The airport features a standard 1950s Soviet airport terminal design, originally intended for an airport with up to 20 aircraft movements per day. On the outside, it is decorated with sculptures of soldiers, workers and aviators, while inside walls and ceilings feature wreaths, bay leaves and stars, and until the early 1990s, the Soviet hammer and sickle, typical decor for Soviet public buildings of early post-war years.

In November 2007, the new 1,000 m2 (11,000 sq ft) terminal building was opened for operations which improved the capacity and facilities of the airport and complies with the requirements of the Schengen agreement. The passenger throughput of the terminal increased, passenger service quality was improved and more stringent aviation security measures were implemented. The new area of the renovated passenger terminal now reaches 3,462 m2 (37,260 sq ft). It is equipped with 6 passenger boarding bridges, modern passenger check-in equipment, new travel value and duty-free shops were opened as well as business lounge and VIP Lounge.

Vilnius Airport Reviews

Nice little airport with hardly any rush. Convenient location near city, all facilities what You need. Lounge is very good, distances from gate to transportation very short. Duty Free is not any cheaper than High Street prices.
- Harri Erho

Small, but it's layot makes impression of big, airport, very cozy without unnecesary crowdind and hurry. Might be more promoted in southeast Latvia (Daugavpils) also establishing god regular transfer services. A girl at gate made my day, when seing my latvian ID smiled and greeted me in latvian :)
- Janis Eiduks

The airport is quite nice. It is the biggest airport in Lithuania. I liked it very much: friendly staff, speaking fluent English. Had no problems there at all, liked it very much. Shops are great; had no problems there at all. Thank you, VIlnius.
- Nojus Juozapavicius

Good and cute airport, excellent location (is about 20-30 minutes from city center), good check-in and so on but have a trouble with flight delay for 2-3 hours because of call on the mining of the airport.
- Aleh Nekrash

Vilnius airport is small, but really nice. Lituanica looks really cool hanging from the ceiling! There is a hotel near the airport, which is nice, and huge parking spaces for your car. Security check takes some time, and duty free is not very "free", rather expensive, but everything else was pretty good.
- Edvinas Juodeikis

очередь на паспортном контроле 2 часа! украинцев досматривали по 20 минут!
- Alexander Safronov

Very small airport and not so perfect. Chairs are only on 1st floor and there is only one very small elevator and no escalator. There are not many powerpoints after security check, I found only two places and it's too few even for rather small airport.
- Przemek

Old and small airport. At nigth works only one dute -free. Very high prices in dute fress store. Border guard is "poker face" every time. No smiles, no nothing, Like "soviet union". Security check was very bad. An old man on security opend my bag and took a bottle of juce by him self with out answering me. Again "soviet union".
- Oleg

One of the worst airport ever been. WiFi hard to found. Food really bad. Without people. Strange, strange
- Manfreds

For such a small airport, Vilnius is very a well equiped airport. There are enough food and retail services, and even at 5 a.m. they were already open. The free wi-fi is a big plus.
