Turin Airport, officially known as Turin-Caselle Airport, is an international airport located in Caselle Torinese, a northern suburb of Turin, Italy. It is the second busiest airport in the country after Rome’s Fiumicino International Airport. The airport serves both domestic and international flights to destinations within Europe and beyond.

The first flight from Turin was made by designer Guglielmo Marconi in 1909, but it wasn’t until 1913 that the aerodrome was opened for regular operations. During World War II, the facility was heavily damaged by bombing raids and it wasn’t until 1948 that a new terminal building was constructed to replace it. Since then, the airport has continually expanded its operations and infrastructure to accommodate increasing passenger numbers. In 1996 a new runway was built to handle long-haul traffic, while in 2007 a brand new passenger terminal opened its doors for business travelers and tourists alike. In recent years construction of additional hangers have taken place allowing aircrafts larger than the Airbus A320 to land at the airport with ease.

Today Turin Airport features two runways with one being dedicated exclusively for private jets, six passenger terminals including three docks for international flights, one cargo terminal and two hangars for freight operators with capacity sufficient enough to cater up to twenty thousand passengers per hour during peak times. There are numerous amenities available such as banking services, cafés and restaurants, duty-free shopping areas as well as car rental companies like Hertz and Avis onsite.

In 2014, more than 6 million passengers used Turin Airport making it one of the busiest airports in all of Italy by passenger numbers: even surpassing Milan’s Malpensa International Airport which handled an impressive 5 million passengers that same year. The airport also plays host to many high-tech technological advances such as automated baggage systems and automatic check-ins; innovations that help make traveling through Turin hassle free for people coming from all around the world!

Turin Airport Reviews

★★★☆☆
The airport had few shops and cafes but queues were excellent apart from at the check in desk. No WiFi. The terminal was also stuffy and over heated making the 2.5 hour wait horrible. The toilets were also disgusting and in need of a clean.
- Lewis Smith

★★★☆☆
Relatively easy to get to the airport with the cheap and frequent coach services from Porta Nuova. The check-in area is average, very few seats to wait for the desks to open. The "free" wifi asks you for credit card details, and the signal is not that great. Very little variety in food/drinks available. Security is very fast and very insecure (they're basically gossiping instead of watching screens, and even when scanners beep they just let you through). Border control is even more insecure. Staff had to evacuate an entire area (gate 2) because about 100 people went through emigration gates that were left open and completely unattended.
- clau

★★★☆☆
The airport is just 17 km from city center. If reachable even by train. Free WIFI. 40 min Free parking (P07) and 15 min free parking (P12). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Alberto

★★★☆☆
Quite small but confortable airport with nice architecture. Few but nice shops inside. No queue at peaktime. 20/30 mins taxi ride from the city center (ask for the guaranteed taxi fare 30 euros). Transfer to the plane was through Cobus.
- David

★★★★★
Airport shops revamped with a new duty free. Full of fashion outlets. There is also a nice "Tiger" shop! Accurate security but fast enough. Wifi is fast and easy to access. Very nice airport!!! Check in is no longer an issue, with on line cheek in you only drop your bag.
- joe gallagher

★★★☆☆
Flying over 40 years from this airport, my home town. Now it is modern, efficent, everything nice and smooth running. Just baggage claim is sometimes slow in peak hours. Taxis to city quite expensive and sometimes low quality.
- Claudio Operti

★★★★★
Nel.y asphalted way to the airport, arrival smooth and fast. No check-in-in (everything online), fast track up to its name, great shops (the only Tiger shop in an Italian airport), wifi very fast and easy to connect. Sandwiches as well a typical cappuccino with croissant very expensive, for being in Italy. Piemonte lounge clean with nice assortment of food and drinks. Easy access on board with channel to the bridge. Upon arrival, you are led again on the shop level, with access to arrival via escalator. Nice thing if you feel like having a coffee
- joe gallagher

★★★★☆
It is a small airport, but well organised. Pubblic transport to city is not so good, but access from motorway is very easy, no problem to get there by car or taxi. Security might take some time in rush hours, but is efficient. Plenty of waiting places, some good shops.
- Claudio Operti

★★★★★
very smart airport; easy to reach from city center even by car or bus. I think that bus service should be improved as many taxis await without clients while bus park are crowded and bus seems not to be enough. only one bus company serves airport: competitors? good fast track service: 5€ if you do not have any VIP card or status; even lounge is available paying. landside area with a bad and expensive restaurant, while airside had some better place to eat. no regional food instead you can find mozzarella from napoli; quite tricky. security staff rude and sometimes impolite often engaged in personal discussions. it could be better.
- Alpitravel

★★★★☆
Small one. But it has all you need. Very fast security check. Train to the airport, unfortunately it doesnt go often and not to the city center. Awesome view over Alps when starting/landing
