‘Tread Lightly‘: Handpicked Wines introduces eco-friendly gondola at major Australian airports

A Handpicked Wines Christmas campaign featuring sustainable packaging and environmentally-conscious gifts has launched at Sydney and Melbourne airports. The promotion – named ‘Tread Lightly’ – features gondolas modelled on the company’s industrial cellar door design.

The Australian multi-region wine producer’s fixed brand spaces were unveiled at the two airports on 30 November and their installation will run through to early 2020.

The wine specialist’s Tread Lightly Christmas campaign focuses on sustainable packaging for its wines and eco-friendly gifts. These include a ‘Zero Waste Kit’ (featuring a reusable straw, cleaning brush and travel chopsticks), an extra-strong premium umbrella and an ‘eco-canteen’ which keeps its contents cool for 24 hours or hot for 12 hours.

Tread Lightly is a culmination of Handpicked Wines’ policy to make environmental improvements to the packaging and production of its products, which first began in its vineyards with a key focus on sustainability and soil health.

The Tread Lightly gift boxes feature vibrant motifs of Australian fauna and are made from 100% FSC recycled paper and use biodegradable soy oil inks and varnishes.

These gift boxes are available with any purchase at the gondola. As an added incentive, for purchases of over A$150 (US$103), customers receive a complimentary Tread Lightly Eco Canteen.

The gondolas feature rolling video footage, allowing travellers from home and overseas to see the vineyards and landscapes where the wines are produced.

The installations also promote the company’s wine delivery to China service – customers travelling to China are able to buy wine and have it delivered to their home address within six working days.
