Tallahassee International Airport (TLH) is the primary airport serving the Tallahassee area of Northern Florida. The airport is located in unincorporated Leon County, approximately 10 miles northwest of downtown Tallahassee. The airport is owned by the City of Tallahassee and is served by three major airlines, Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, and United Airlines.
The facility was originally opened in 1925 as a joint venture between the city and county, with a single runway and hangar. Over the years, TLH has undergone extensive expansion projects to become what it is today. This includes two runways, one measuring 8500 ft long and 150 ft wide while the other measures 7800 ft long and 150 ft wide. There are a total of seven gates at TLH plus two cargo-only gates for private charter flights.
In addition to commercial airline services, TLH also provides other aviation services including fueling for general aviation aircraft, air ambulance services, air freight services as well as a full service general aviation terminal with rental cars, shops, restaurants and more. The passenger terminal offers amenities such as free Wi-Fi access throughout the building, charging stations for electronic devices, a children’s play area and small business center for travelers on the go.
